A minimalist approach to endless options
Samsøe Samsøe is not the kind of brand that waits around – the team behind are in it to pave the way for retail done right. When they came to us, they were clear about wanting the best digital commerce and brand experience. What they needed was a state-of-the-art commerce platform built to inspire their customers and scale the business.
In short, Samsøe Samsøe’s previous website had quite a lot going on – splashes, colours, labels and tags. And nothing’s wrong with having a lot of good stuff to show – except if you want to convey minimalism. Rooted in its Scandinavian heritage, Samsøe Samsøe needed help translating its minimalist, effortless and exclusive collections into a digital experience.
That’s where we made an appearance – by updating the tech with the latest in Salesforce and creating a digital design concept. Together, we began the work on strengthening the digital customer experience – for Samsøe Samsøe and its sister brand Envii. This case story will give you the highlights of how we went about it.
Future-proof platform with Salesforce
Put simply, we helped the Samsøe Samsøe team make the most of Salesforce. By combining several of their features, we’re able to better bridge tech and design and make the site’s functionality and expression work flawlessly and mobile-first.
We upgraded the company’s e-commerce sites powered by SFCC to SFRA – the latest version of the Salesforce architecture. For the e-commerce team at Samsøe Samsøe, this means optimised internal processes and reduced time-to-market for new launches and expansions – flexible and future-proof.
A solid foundation for unified commerce
Forget about traditional channel thinking. The future belongs to the brands that think unified commerce. With Samsøe Samsøe and their Salesforce Multi-Cloud setup, it was essential to include the Salesforce OMS (Order Management System) – and together, we were the first to launch in Denmark.
The highly flexible system is built to support omnichannel journeys on a global scale. Salesforce OMS ties all processes together – even for complex business logics like Samsøe Samsøe’s. Scoping the complexity in detail and mapping before building is essential in every project we take on. For the growing fashion brand, it meant tailored mapping order flows with business logics. The result? A great starting point and a future-proof foundation for upcoming launches, optimisation and expansions.
One customer view across all systems
One customer view across everything from Salesforce OMS and Commerce Cloud to Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud means one source of truth where every department has access to all the customer’s data. A better view means a better experience, where customers are seamlessly assisted before, during and after a purchase. Salesforce OMS also delivers flawlessly on fulfilment and routing rules – among so much more.
We took the important steps to simplify our IT landscape and created a simpler architecture together with IMPACT. We matched our current and future needs by cutting away legacy middleware and upgraded several of our current systems. The result has opened new opportunities for us to develop our omni channel business and most important, to simplify our workflows and make us more efficient.
From multi-brand to mono-brand
Samsøe Samsøe was in the middle of rolling out a new strategy that included becoming a mono-brand retailer. Unfolding the Samsøe Samsøe brand alone means unfolding a brand narrative. A narrative about the Scandinavian way with design and the flagship feeling that comes with a well-designed mono-brand experience.
Meet Salesforce Page Designer
To support this narrative, we helped the team launch Salesforce Page Designer enabling the team to easily create inspirational landing pages built with endless tiles and visuals of inspiration. The result is an immersive and intuitive experience for anyone scrolling.
A challenge we see often is that tech and design work separately. And when they finally meet, both teams are forced to make many compromises. But when design knows tech from the get-go, like when working in Page Designer, it tends to lead to a better collaboration – and fewer compromises.
When building with Salesforce as the framework, you really get to know the platform. This means that you’re able to tailor the design to Page Designer so content editors can jump right in and easily play around with the different content modules.
A state-of-the-art CMS
If you’re looking for a best-practice tool that’s easy for the content team to use and play with, Page Designer is your go-to Content Management System. With just a few modules, you can create breath-taking expressions across campaigns and static pages. Samsøe Samsøe’s site genuinely inspires through content with large, immersive photos and videos, giving customers a close-up of what matters.
On top of that, the mobile-first experience lets people tap to explore details, like colours and different angles, before they commit to clicking and discovering more. A comfortable experience that both enlightens and inspires without giving it all away all at once.
Working in Page Designer is much more intuitive and easier than what we had before. The possibility to drag-and-drop content has reduced our time spent on preparing Front Page, landing pages etc. And especially the possibility to add video content is a huge advantage
At work with us
With Samsøe Samsøe, we kicked off our long-term collaboration with a small workshop. And then we went straight to the good part: creating. With a minimum of one weekly check-in, we stayed aligned while leaving lots of room for getting things done.
The project with Samsøe Samsøe pretty much sums up the IMPACT way of working. We skip the boring slides – but keep the good ones – and go straight to the task, the challenge and the collaboration that will fuel the results.
Fewer slides, more sprints
The team at Samsøe Samsøe are the true experts on their brand – we merely help translate it into a digital experience. And we did it in design sprints, one feature or landing page at a time. First up was navigation, then the front page, then checkout and so on. Working agile in sprints lets us experiment and adjust – while always looking at the customer journey as our leading star tying everything together.
